Sunday Hall of Fame Open Recap

The 2025 Hall of Fame Open concluded on Sunday, crowning a new set of champions in Newport. Rising American stars dominated a historic day on Center Court, sweeping both the men’s and women’s singles and doubles titles before a packed crowd at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

For the first time in over 35 years, a women’s professional singles title was awarded in Newport to Caty McNally. The 23-year old took down No. 1 seed and World No. 45 Tatjana Maria in a come-from-behind thriller 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 for her second WTA career title. Despite being outserved across the match, McNally posted significant defensive results– capitalizing on 75% of break points to offset Maria’s game. The win marks McNally’s first WTA-level crown since November 2022 at Midland.

“It’s such a privilege to be here and play on these historic courts. To have women be back here for the first time in 35 years and me being the first winner since– I truly couldn’t ask for much more,” said McNally.

Zachary Svadja continued his momentous 2025 season with his first Newport title, besting Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 6-3. The American downed the former 2023 Hall of Fame Open champion in the match lasting just under 90 minutes, converting four crucial break points to dampen Mannarino’s service game. The 22 year-old’s victory marks his fifth career Challenger title and first at the 125 level.

“This win means so much to me. It’s been a really tough year I would say, with some things going on in the family side. With hard work it really pays off, I really kept going at it and trying to stay positive. It means everything, winning this tournament” said Svadja.

In doubles action, the duo of No. 4 seed Ivana and Carmen Corely claimed their first career WTA-level title to kickstart the action on Center Court. The Corely Sisters defeated No. 3 seed Arianna Hartono and Prathana Thombare 7-6, 6-3. Across the week, the University of Oklahoma duo posted the most service games won, (83.78%) and highest winning percentage on both first and second serves, netting an average 74.81% and 54.44%, respectively.

The day culminated in wildcards and 2024 Hall of Fame Open doubles finalists JJ Tracy and Robert Cash’s first title at Newport. The 2024 NCAA National Champions defeated Hans Hach Verdugo and Cristian Rodriguez 7-6, 6-3 for their seventh career Challenger title since graduating from Ohio State last May. After a heartbreaking three-set loss last week at

Wimbledon, Tracy and Cash completed a commanding run at the Hall of Fame Open by winning more than 70% of service points and all four break points saved.
